First 2 Hours After Your Lip Blush Procedure
For the first 2 hours, gently blot your lips with the sterile wipes included in your aftercare kit every 20 minutes. This removes excess lymph fluid and helps minimize heavy scabbing.
Be gentle and avoid rubbing or wiping aggressively.
Lip Care Routine (First 7 Days)
Keeping your lips moisturized is one of the most important parts of the healing process.
Apply the healing ointment provided in your aftercare kit or Aquaphor (Vaseline) frequently throughout the day to keep your lips hydrated.
Reapply whenever your lips begin to feel dry.
Moisturizing is especially important during the first 3 days, when your lips are most sensitive.
Continue applying the healing ointment regularly for the first 7 days or until your lips are fully healed.
Eating & Drinking Guidelines
During the first few days after your permanent makeup lip procedure:
If drinking coffee, sparkling water, soda, or other carbonated beverages, it is recommended to use a strawwhenever possible.
Plain water may be consumed normally from a clean cup, clean bottle, or through a straw.
Avoid sharing cups, bottles, utensils, or straws during the first 3 days to reduce the risk of bacteria contacting the healing lips.
It is recommended to use your own clean eating utensils during the first few days of healing.
Foods to Avoid
For the first 3 days, avoid:
Spicy foods
Very hot foods or hot beverages
Salty foods
Acidic foods and drinks that may irritate the lips
Choose softer, mild-temperature foods whenever possible to keep your lips comfortable during healing.
Oral Hygiene
When brushing your teeth, be careful not to allow toothpaste to come into contact with your healing lips, as it may cause irritation or a burning sensation.
Brush gently and rinse carefully.
Additional Healing Instructions
For the first 3 days:
Avoid kissing.
Avoid touching your lips with unwashed hands.
Always wash your hands thoroughly before applying your healing ointment.
Sun Protection
Sun exposure can cause premature fading of your healed lip blush color.
For the first 10 days, protect your lips from direct sunlight by wearing a hat or other protective head coveringwhenever you are outdoors.
Once your lips have completely healed, applying a lip balm with SPF is highly recommended whenever you spend time in the sun to help maintain your permanent lip color.
What to Avoid During Healing
To ensure beautiful healed results, please avoid:
Swimming pools, oceans, lakes, rivers, and hot tubs for 7–10 days.
Saunas, steam rooms, and excessive heat for 7–10 days.
Heavy exercise and excessive sweating for 7 days.
Picking, peeling, or scratching any dry skin or flakes.
Makeup directly on the lips until they have healed.
Facial treatments, chemical peels, laser procedures, or exfoliating products around the lip area for at least 2 weeks.
Healing Process
Immediately after your Lip Blush Permanent Makeup procedure, your lips will appear brighter and more vibrant than the final healed result. Mild swelling, tenderness, dryness, and light flaking are completely normal.
As your lips heal, the color will soften significantly and become more natural.
Complete healing typically takes 6–8 weeks. A perfecting touch-up appointment may be recommended after healing to enhance color, improve retention, and achieve the desired final result.
By following these Lip Blush Permanent Makeup aftercare instructions, you will help your lips heal beautifully and enjoy long-lasting, natural-looking results.
